The Advantages of Mulch Manufactured from Recycled Wood:
Apple D'OR Tree, Inc. recycles wood, stumps and brush into high quality mulch. Sales of recycled wood mulch are increasing rapidly as users experience the advantages of this lower cost alternative.
Pine and Hemlock bark mulch that is marketed in New England is produced primarily in Maine and Canada where the demand for bark as fuel has significantly increased, thus driving up prices. Combined with higher fuel costs for shipping bark mulch from Maine and Canada, the price of mulch is up significantly in 2007.
Mulch made from clean wood, such as stumps and brush is approximately 1/2 the cost of bark mulch. This is due to the fact that tip fees charged to accept clean stumps and brush offset the sales price, and since the mulch is produced locally trucking costs are less.
The advantages of recycled wood mulch compared to bark mulch include:
- Significantly less expensive
- Comparable or better performance
- Manufactured from recycled stumps and brush
- Longer lasting
- Custom color mulches include: Hemlock Red, Spruce Brown and Pine Black
