Green waste recycling

Apple D'Or Tree, Inc's commitment to green waste recycling started as a necessity to be able to take waste products from landscapes such as brush, leaves, grass clippings and soil and turn them into a usable product to service our own landscape needs.

As landfills close and organics were no longer allowed, the demand for a facility was needed. For the past 20 years, Apple D'Or Tree, Inc. has been developing and refining ways to efficiently take green waste and turn it into high quality mulch, loam and compost.

     

We have invested in state of the art grinding equipment such as our Precision Husky 4000 Horizontal Grinder which we use at our site and travel to other private and municipal sites. We have acquired 3 Trommel Screeners which are designed for high production screening of soils and compost, which again we use at our site and travel to other private and municipal sites. We have an extensive fleet of loaders and excavators ready to be used on private and municipal sites and used for land clearing jobs as well.

Apple D'Or has been providing green waste recycling to the City of Boston and its surrounding communities for the past 10 seasons. The scope of our business brings 25 years of expertise with products and services that protect, promote and enhance the resources entrusted to The Commonwealth. We take pride in encouraging the vital recycling connection between our environment and its people. Apple D'Or Tree, Inc. handles all of the green waste for the City's Parks Department, Cemeteries, Department of Public Works and Sanitation.

The DCR Morton Street located on American Legion Highway in Mattapan has been a great asset to promoting sound recycling habits for Boston and the suburbs. It is rare that a city has a compost site. This has enabled City residents the opportunity to do the right thing by providing them the resources. Apple D’Or Tree, Inc. as the City of Boston’s contract site operator was pleased during this year to provide products and services to 70 towns throughout eastern and central Massachusetts. Apple D'Or Tree, Inc. utilized compost blended soils this year to grow pumpkins and other vegetables. We were able to donate most of the pumpkin yield to local organizations for use during their Halloween festivities. The Community Gardens had a very successful program using our compost to practice sustainable living by amending garden soils throughout the City. We are looking forward to continuing this program with Boston Natural (over 76 locations) as well as providing materials and services for many other of the city’s gardeners. Every Spring and Fall, Apple D’Or hosts an information seminar allowing our customers and the general public to see the benefits of recycling products within a city environment. We also service local cemeteries and contractors with specialty blended soils prepared on our site in Mattapan.
